If you are looking to save some money for your business then we always recommend looking at print costs. Far too many people spend too much on prints and don’t even realize it. This is because they don’t understand how print costs work and they get talked into bad contracts. Saving on print costs isn’t hard, you just have to know what to look for.
Many copier leasing companies will try and get you to buy more prints than you need. They don’t need to do any more work so extra prints that you don’t use is just money in their pockets. This is especially true because unused copier prints do not rollover to other months. That means that anything you don’t use is just wasted month.
Copier leasing companies know this, but many consumers don’t. In fact, you can usually get a discount on the price per print, but the larger quantity will still make you pay more than you should.
For example,
- You calculate your monthly output and decide that you need 25,000 prints.
- The salesperson might suggest that you buy 30,000 prints, just in case. They offer to knock the price down from $.o15 per print to $.014 per print.
- It may sound like a good deal because you are paying less per print but you are still paying more.
25,000 prints x $.015 per print = $375 per year
30,000 prints x $.014 per print = $420 per year
That’s an extra $45 per month spent on prints that you will never use.
