Trusting your leasing company is vital when examining your copier contract. We pride ourselves on our customer service at Kansas City Copier, but not every leasing company operates like we do. We will show you the answers that you need, but some companies will not give you information unless you ask. We think that copier leases should be straightforward because we want the best for our customers.
You should always question your leasing rep about all parts of your copier contract. You want to make sure that you understand what you are getting yourself into. It’s not just about the price, but it’s about all the things that could happen between now and the end of your lease.
Here are a few questions to ask your leasing agent before signing a copier lease.
- What is the complete breakdown of my payment? Don’t just take the monthly lease rate as the only thing you need to know. Know your price for consumables and services. Do you have regular maintenance in your contract? What happens if there are overages?
- What happens if I need maintenance? Is this built into my contract or do I need to work this out on my own? Who will come out and how long will it take? Will I have a dedicated representative or will it always be someone new?
- What happens at the end of the lease? Make sure you understand that the end of your lease is just as important as the beginning. Don’t ignore the facts for years before having to deal with them. Figure out who is responsible for shipping and what exactly you have to do when your lease ends.
The more questions you ask the better. Having a true understanding of your lease is the only way to make sure you can make a confident decision. It also gives you the time to feel out your representative and see if you can trust them.
